Civil Rights

Some believe that our country's great Civil Rights battles are behind us. Daniel knows that the sad truth is we still have a long way to go.
We have not achieved marriage equality, which means that countless LGBT couples who hunger for the emotional, economic and legal protections of marriage are still being shunted aside as second class citizens.

That's why Daniel, who was raised on stories of the Mississippi Freedom Summer of 1964 and other great Civil Rights battles, will strongly support true marriage equality.

With reproductive rights under threat in the Supreme Court and states across the nation, New York must be a leader in safeguarding women's access to safe and confidential family planning, including abortions. Daniel supports codifying the protections of Roe v. Wade in state law and expanding comprehensive sex education and family planning programs.
